I love You Zachary

Zachary is the reason I went to Austin. In January my brother and sister-in-law had a baby born with several complications. I am not sure what all of them are or if anyone is interested to know what all of them are. Zachary was just moved from the NICU to PICU to test a new group of doctors. We are hoping the next move Zachary will make will be home with his family. Zachary is so sweet and such a little fighter. It is so sweet to see the love that Zachary's brother and sister have for him as well as the nursing staff. I can't wait for him to finally be home with his family where he belongs. I love you Zachary, you are in all of my thoughts and prayers.

Lone Star Vacation

I love spending time with my nieces and nephews. I love escaping back to my childhood with them and for a minute pretending I can be carefree like them. Last week I had so much fun in Texas. We played fun games like Hungry Hippos-which has not changed a bit from my days as a champion, watched silly cartoons, did puzzles, and made those beads things you put on a peg board and melt with the iron( I loved those as a child). We also played outside with the hose and in the kiddy pool. We put the sprinkler under the trampoline and jumped and played crack the egg for hours. I love being a child. My last night in Austin we went to "The worst BBQ in Texas" well that is what the slogan is anyway. But I actually loved Rudy's. The corn was delicious, it was even worth the bad flight with no peanuts.

American Airlines--I don't Heart Them

So last week I flew to Austin, TX aboard Ameican Airlines. It has been a while since I have flown American. I spend most of my air time aboard Delta and Southwest except for the rare occasion I get to fly my favorite airline JET BLUE! I left for Austin in the evening, I had dinner so I was not hungry but for some reason I was looking forward to a little airline snack. Shortly after take off I hear a flight attendant mention something about purchasing a snack for $4. I thought to myself surly they have peanuts or something. But no--you have to purchase a little box with about a million calories in it. Next, I asked for a pillow--I was due into Austin about 11:35 pm and I was wanting to catch some shut eye to avoid any ounce of jet lag. But again No pillows or blankets. As I was exiting the plane I did notice however there was a pillow and blanket in every seat in First Class. And they were served a hot meal! And they probably ate all of my peanuts. My only question is how come on the discount airlines I am still offered a choice of 6 snacks, a pillow and a blanket, Direct TV and free headphones? As for me I am going to keep flying my discount airlines.

I'm on Pins and Needles

Everyweek I look forward to Project Runway. I LOVE it! It is Thursday and I already can't wait for Wednesday to be here. I watch the show everytime it is on Bravo regardless of how many times I have seen it already and I watch them all over again on Wednesday. I did not love this season at first but now I am quite pleased with the way things are turning out. I love all of the different personalites. I am so ready for Angela to be kicked off. Last night the fight with Angela's mom and Jeffery was so commical. I think he was way out of line, but that is to be expected from Jefferey. I can't wait for next week. Oh yeah and I love Heidi Klum--She is fantastic!

U.S.A. ?

What country do I live in?
Last week I was doing some shopping. I went into Ross Dress for Less looking for some gym clothes. You know the section Ross calls activewear. I could not locate the teal and pink sign I was looking for labeled "activewear". I approached the nearest salesperson who gave me a blank look and began walking away--I followed this gentleman thinking he would be able to lead me in the right direction. He approached another Ross associate and they began speaking to each other in Spanish. After a short converstaion with each other, they looked at me as if I should have understood everything they said and know exactly where to go. Thankfully they were able to point me in the direction of the shinny spandex.
In the same evening...
I was in another store-Big Lots. Well I don't have great expectations of this store either but it happened again--in the same night! I could not communicate with the sales associate because she did not speak English. THIS IS A PROBLEM! After about 5 minutes of trying to describe a snap light in very broken Spanish, I gave up.
What is happening here? Is anyone else concerend here? I am all about diversity but I think we all need to be able to communicate here. Here--in the USA.
